Formal Opinions/Assessments

Fire TS Laboratory's team of experts possess necessary competence and experience in both testing and writing laboratory's reports which enable them to prepare Formal Opinions/Assessments.

The Formal opinion is derived directly from the full-scale fire resistance test results, by means of a technical analysis of the effects of the proposed variations in relation to the failure criteria of the fire resistance test(s).

For this purpose the laboratory's accreditation scope includes a number of additional standards which are used in conjunction with AS1530.4 test method and needed for issuance of the Formal Opinions/Assessments. They are the following standards:

AS 4072.1 Components for the protection of openings in fire-resistant separating elements Part 1: Service penetrations and control joints
NZS 4520 Fire-resistant doorsets
